A former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Timi Frank, has called for the immediate suspension of Senator Francis Fadahunsi over alleged inflammatory remarks concerning the upcoming Osun State governorship election.

Frank's demand follows a video circulating online in which Senator Fadahunsi, speaking in Yoruba, allegedly accused Accord Party members of attacking APC supporters and urged a gathering in Ilesa to retaliate against Accord Party loyalists.

The Osun State Police Command stated that it had summoned Senator Fadahunsi over the remarks. The lawmaker honoured the police summons on Wednesday, though specific details of the interaction remained sketchy.

Reacting to the development, Frank described the senator's remarks as unguarded and dangerous to the country's democracy. He urged the Federal Government and security agencies to take prompt action.

"I condemn the comment of Senator Francis Fadahunsi strongly and call on the security agencies to immediately act, despite his position, to arrest the senator with all urgency," Frank said. He added that the Senate must suspend any lawmaker who makes such statements to serve as a deterrent against election violence.

Tension has risen in Osun State ahead of the governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026. The incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, is seeking re-election against the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
