The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Joint Campus Council, JCC, Osun Axis, will hold its 2026 convention on Friday, August 28, at the NUJ Secretariat, Capital Area, Osogbo, Osun State.
According to an invitation issued by the Caretaker Committee of NANS JCC Osun Axis, delegates are expected to arrive in Osogbo on Thursday, August 27, ahead of the convention proper scheduled for Friday, August 28.
The event will hold at the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Secretariat in the Capital Area of Osogbo.
Departure of delegates is scheduled for Saturday, August 29.
The convention is expected to form part of the transition process for the student body in Osun State, bringing together student leaders and representatives from tertiary institutions across the state.
In the invitation, Students’ Union Government presidents were advised to liaise with the management of their respective institutions for necessary logistics and other forms of support required for participation in the convention.
The Caretaker Committee also wished delegates safe journeys to Osogbo and expressed hope that the convention would produce a memorable transition process for the association.
NANS JCC operates at the state level as a coordinating structure bringing together students and Students’ Union Governments from tertiary institutions within its jurisdiction.
The Osun Axis has played a role in student advocacy, engagement with tertiary institutions and government authorities, as well as interventions on issues affecting students across the state.
Attention will now turn to Friday’s convention and the outcome of the transition process.
