Aurum Digital Consulting Limited, a digital product company based in Lagos, has introduced Afterwordmail, a new email platform that enables users to revise messages even after they have been sent.
The platform is intended to resolve common errors in business communications, such as incorrect account details on invoices, outdated pricing in quotations, or changes to event information. Users can modify the subject and body of an email, as well as add, replace, or remove attachments, according to the company.
Recipients who access the message via a provided link will see the most current version. Aurum Digital Consulting stated that this system is particularly useful in situations where sending a follow-up correction email might cause confusion, especially if the original message has already been read, forwarded, or filed.
The company highlighted that Afterwordmail operates differently from conventional email recall functions found in platforms like Microsoft Outlook or Zoho Mail. Unlike recall systems that often depend on specific platform conditions, Afterwordmail uses a link that permits the sender to update content post-delivery. Recipients do not need to use the same email provider as the sender and can access updated content through a web browser without needing to install any software.
Aurum Digital Consulting also noted that the platform includes a record of changes to ensure accountability. Users have a 48-hour window after sending a message to make corrections, after which the content becomes permanently locked. Each version of the message is retained with a timestamp indicating when it was replaced, and the record includes details about associated attachments. Recipients are notified via email whenever a message is updated.
The company emphasized that the version history cannot be altered or deleted by senders, even if the live message is removed. "The difference is not that we allow edits. It is that ours are recorded. One record, every version kept, every change timestamped, and the recipient told each time something changes," Aurum Digital Consulting stated.
Afterwordmail was developed in Nigeria with the aim of serving both African and international markets. The platform is being utilized for business communications including invoices, quotations, payment instructions, and event details. The service is priced at ₦3,500 per month in Nigeria, following a 30-day free trial.
This new platform is part of Aurum Digital Consulting's broader strategy to develop software tailored for specific industries and business needs. The company's other products include ClaimLensIQ, a claims fraud intelligence platform for Nigerian insurers; WingWatch Nigeria, an aviation consumer rights platform; Football FanIQ, a sports fan intelligence platform; and InsightEx, a capital markets intelligence dashboard for the Nigerian Exchange.
