The number of fatalities from recent attacks on the Rafin Kada–Wukari road in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State has increased to 11. The latest violence, which began on Tuesday, reportedly claimed the lives of six passengers travelling in a separate vehicle from Donga.

This incident followed the reported killing of a former Ason Youth Leader who was travelling from Wukari to Rafin Kada. A former councillor also sustained injuries in an attack but managed to escape.

Further reports indicate that three individuals returning from a market in Wukari to Rafin Kada were subsequently shot dead along the same route. The attacks are said to have occurred between Mobile Police and military checkpoints, raising concerns about commuter safety despite previous optimism about returning peace.

Rafin Kada has been plunged into mourning, and tension has escalated in surrounding communities due to the renewed violence. These incidents add to a history of recurring attacks along the Rafin Kada–Wukari axis, which have been documented in previous security and peace monitoring reports.

Daily Post could not independently verify the identities of all 11 deceased victims or the specific circumstances of the six passengers' reported deaths as of press time. Efforts to get a comment from the Taraba State Police Command were hampered by poor network connectivity, according to the Public Relations Officer, Victor Mshelizah.
